Geneva Special Order Gold Watch With O'Hara Dial Case: 18k yellow gold, 52 mm, case back with Knights of Pythias engraving, front with ornate monogram and small bird, inner gold bezel and glass over the movement, Potter trademark in the back lid Dial: enamel, signed "O'Hara Waltham Dial Co." on the reverse, hours in gold frames for "Fred Goosmann", blue outer border with five minute numerals, portrait of a young woman at center, subsidiary seconds, gold filigree hands Movement: No. 561, nickel, kidney shaped plates, straight line lever escapement, bi-metallic compensated balance with gold and platinum mean time screws, counter poised pallet, 20 jewels, diamond end stone on the barrel in a screw down setting, micro-metric regulator with swan's neck spring Fred Goosmann was born in Lingen Germany July 5th 1852. In 1870 he opened a watch and jewelry store in Somerville Tennessee. This is a unique special order timepiece and one of the very few known by Albert H. Potter with a fancy O'Hara dial.
