2010 - Jones Horan auction, 23 May 2010, $23,000, "DESCRIPTION: APW - albert potter & Co, Geneva, free-sprung pivoted detent pocket chronometer, 55mm, heavy 18K original HC with albert potter balance logo within back cover, glazed cuvette, SW with shift-lever setting, WE-SSD, potter's patent fully capped pivoted detent escapement with perpendicular passing spring strut and helical HS, escapement patent October 11, 1875, plate design patent January 4, 1876, 21-22J, GJS, pinstripe pattern NI damascene, s#110
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, bad lower pivot, locking cam will not hold 1st wheel to barrel; the mainspring was replaced with white alloy at one time, but the specially designed locking cam which prevents damage when the spring breaks now no longer carries the wheel, and will need to be repaired or adjusted; the bushing jewels are good, the escapement action is fine in face up position, the clean plates show very few MFS and only faint tiny speckle, one corrosion area of only pitting, one short scuff, near mint slots & settings, no oxide on bright work; dial has small chip below center to top of seconds; hands in near mint purple; original massive case needs new screw for lift spring (head broken off), the spring is currently loose and applies insufficient force to lift cover; case shows very little wear, some MFS, needs polishing, there are no dents or dings; bow in fine condition with sticker residue, crown shows light wear; good glass crystals; a fine and important example awaiting conservation
