2020 - ebay #193373888319, New Jersey, "18k Albert Potter ~ beautiful example 35.7 mm diameter across the off set hinged solid gold hall marked 18k hunting case ~ fancy initials adorn the front & rear ~ topped off by a stiff gold bow with chain guard ~ press the crown & the front cover springs open to a fairly crisp 90 degrees ~ clear glass crystal ~ deep blue steel breguet moon hands ~ the enamel signed dial features vines around the roman hour markers ~ stem wind / lever set (must hold lever while setting the time) ~ the watch is in good running order & keeps close time over a 24 hour period though i do not guarantee timekeeping ~ the high grade nickle damakeened movement lies under a display crystal to allow for viewing without exposing it to the elements ~ wolf's teeth winding wheels ~ jeweled through the center with cap jewels over the pallet & escape wheel = 21 jewels ~ two part pallet & platinum mean time screws with gold timing screws ~ certainly well above & beyond the typical watch made in ladies sizes.... signed Albert Potter & co ~ Geneva serial number 416 ~ albert potter's trademark chronometer balance is stamped into the case rear ~ you would think the albert potter box that houses this beauty was made for it alas it is marked #413 under Albert Potter's trademark on the purple silk box lid ~ that actually can be pulled forward to reveal an authentic Albert Potter business card ~ the black exterior of the box has mother of pearl inlaid on the top ~ there is a crack across both the top & the bottom of the box it it is still quite functional ~ besides charles fasoldt, albert potter is credited with being one of america's premier watchmakers & who died like many other watchmakers, a poor man... i can only point to the nawcc's museum where movement #403 lives ~ i would say much less common than the AP , chronometer or repeater watches sold by potter ~ truly a collector's item certain to be enjoyed! please ask questions and resolve issues before you place your bid reserve? no reserve here! so if you like it you better place your bid now before it gets away! thanks for checking out my listing and if you are into watches please check out my other offerings & you might want to keep a half-an-eye on my upcoming listings as i am liquidating a long time watchmaker's estate-whilst i continue to span the globe for unique and exotic items to bring to your door!"
